Bredon handles iron rings in Kvothe's room with no visible effect. Compare to Bast's reaction to Chronicler's iron trinket when they first meet. Excellent point, I was finding myself thinking this was plausible until I read your comment. We see him handle it?? I know he talks about them but idk if we see him touch it. If you're right tho he's def not fae, but I would bet he has knowledge about fae that most people don't have. If Bredon is Ash theory is true maybe that's part of the info he has that makes Denna stay.

I think Bredon is Denas patron. Kvothe calls the patron master ash because the wind blew an ash leaf into his mouth. When we first meet him Kvothe notes his house colors are that of gray ash. The C'thae mentions how the patron beats her and recently used his cane. We know Bredon moves around with a cane that has a silver wolf's head he is a wolf in sheeps clothing we also dont know anything about him we dont even know his standing in the court. Kvothe also tries to have him come play a game of tak and he doesnt respond this is at the same time Dena has left.

I have also toyed around with Bredon being cinder and him being a more direct way for him to play with his eventual pray but I dont see it panning out. Him being Denas patron seems far more plausible to me.

I don't think so. I just finished listening to the audiobook of WMF second read through and don't remember it being mentioned anywhere else. This is a theory that a friend and I have postulated as well. A couple more points to add. His eyes are described lively and remind Kvothe of an owl. Not many peoples eyes get that much description.

I think eyes are important to the story in a few ways and therefore the description means Bredon is important. The time in Droon runs differently in Droon that even a whole year in Droon is not even a second in our world. This factor helps the kids very much and makes their travelling easier. The first twelve books see Keeah, Eric, Neal, and Julie trying to find and free Keeah's mother, Queen Relna, from a curse placed on her by Witch Demither that forces her to shift shapes; she goes from being a bird, to a dragon, to a tiger, and finally a dolphin before becoming human again.

The fourteenth, fifteenth, and sixteenth books and the first special edition introduce the plot involving Zara, the Queen of Light, and her three sons: Urik, Galen, and Sparr; Zara, who was kidnapped along with Sparr by Ko, emperor of the long-lost evil Empire of Goll, and brought to Droon as Zara and her sons were originally from the Upper World will later become a recurringly important part of the series.

Salamandra, initially princess later Queen of shadowthorn arrives in Droon, thus marking the entry of another antagonist.

But after the series goes her intention seems mostly good even though her alliance is always bought to a question. He comes back to Droon's present to give the children and Galen his piece of the Moon Medallion, a magical artifact composed of four pieces created by Zara and her sons Zara's Silver Moon [the pendant], Galen's Ring of Midnight, Urik's Pearl Sea, and Sparr's Twilight Star , before going off on his own journey.

Wood and Steel - Critical Role - Campaign 2, Episode 58

Gethwing, the moon dragon who serves as Ko's lieutenant though he has ambitions of his own , becomes the more prevalent villain, especially when Ko is thrown into a chasm with no visible bottom. Another thing revealed in the book is that Gethwing is immortal.
